Abstract
In this paper a D5h coordination symmetry of UO++2 is investigated. MCD spectra and absorption spectra of Cs3UO2F5 are taken at liquid helium temperature. The interpretation is mainly based on the presence of three progressions that exhibit a negative A term in MCD. They are identified as Γg←1Σ+g transitions. The Γg states are issued from the σ+uφu and π3uφu configurations. Keywords
