Abstract
The influence of three-wave interaction on stability of ballooning modes is determined in the presence of magnetic shear and a fully toroidal large-aspect-ratio field geometry. From the ideal two-fluid equations, possibilities for nonlinear instability of the explosive type are established. Keywords
