Abstract
A 41-yr.-old woman, who had been given tetanus antitoxin for prophylaxis after sustaining lacerations of the upper extremity, presented serum sickness followed by an acute condition in the shoulder on the affected side. History, signs and symptoms justified the diagnosis of serum neuritis. There was a strong psychotic element in this case. This is the first case on record in which a psychotic element is mentioned. The literature is reviewed, with emphasis on possible medicolegal aspects of serum neuritis. Keywords
