Abstract
The paper presents a block diagram representation of the reluctance synchronous motor and investigates its dynamic stability under different operating conditions using the linear servo theory. Both the stability of torque and power angle functions and of the overall system, including the system dynamics, are analyzed for different steady-state power angles and working voltages as well as for different supply frequencies. The significance of armature resistance on stability is brought out and a means of compensation for improving the dynamic response is suggested. The effect of damper winding is not included. Keywords
