Abstract
Ten viruses have been isolated from humans, monkeys, and/or mosquitoes in the Uganda area. Of these only yellow fever has been tied in with all 3 groups. In none of the others are complete cycles of relationship established. Some have been only found in man, others only in monkeys, and a few only in mosquitoes. Of those found in man only a few cause recognizable disease entities and knowledge of their existence is based more on recognizing definite immune reactions rather than in observing symptoms. With the exception of yellow fever and Rift Valley fever, the viruses have been given place names since so little is known concerning their nature. The meagre facts concerning each of the 10 viruses are summarized and speculation is offered as to their possible relationships. Keywords
