Abstract
Artificial bilateral cryptochidism was induced in 4 groups of pubertal male albino rats for different periods. Left orchiopexy and right orchiodectomy were performed. The left testes were orchidectomized after 70 days in the scrotum, the necessary period for possible recovery of spermatogenesis. The comparative histology of both testes showed that the longer the period of cryptorchidism, the more histological degeneration could be observed. After 70 days of recovery, only the 4 days cryptorchid testes succeeded in recovery and reorganization of spermatogenesis in the majority of the seminiferous tubules. This publication has 14 references indexed in Scilit:
