Abstract
ACCIDENTAL poisoning of children with digitalis preparations and extracts occurs in several ways. A toddler may open and ingest a bottle of digitalis preparation prescribed for a relative1 or be given digitalis instead of another medicine actually prescribed. A brother or sister may give a sibling digitalis as a game. Errors in dispensing from a pharmacy or hospital are known.2 Transplacental digitalis intoxication has been reported.
