Abstract
Nine mongrel dogs were given isotonic solution of K phosphate in distilled water intravenously to point of A-V block 42 times with an average of 16.6 meq of the cation necessary to produce the block. The same procedure was carried out 12 times after administration of toxic doses of digitoxin and this time an average of only 7.2 meq of K was necessary to produce A-V block. The average level of plasma K at A-V block before and after administration of digitoxin was 8.5 and 6.9 meq/1 respectively. Keywords
