ChemotherapyIn view of the unsatisfactory results with operation and radiotherapy in disseminated disease, chemotherapy has been widely employed. The proper evaluation of drug therapy has been hindered by its indiscriminate use after the demonstration, in the early 1950's, that alkylating agents could produce subjective and objective responses.64 65 66 67 Many authors presented their results without defining tumor characteristics or stating whether other therapy was given concurrently or previously.
