Abstract
Linkage relations between the PGM1 locus and each of 15 other markers were studied in 35 PGM1 segregating families with 149 children. Computor analysis were performed by the methods of Fisher-Finney and Morton-Smith on 2-generation familes. The probability of linkage was raised for 3 relations, namely to 5.5% for PGM-Fy, to 7.6% for PGM-ABO and to 70.8% for PGM-PTC. The most likely PGM-PTC recombination fraction by the 2 methods of analysis was 0.167, 0.09 (0.03-0.24) for the total material, and 0.226, 0.17 (0.03-0.43) for females. Recombination in males was confirmed only by inspection of 3 generation families. No association between the PGMl and the PTC systems was found, Linkage to each of the Gm and Gc loci was excluded (p< 0.01). Assuming linkage, recombination below 20% to each of the Rh, MNS, Le (that: is Se), P, K, Inv, Hp and Lp loci, and below 12% to the ABO, Fy and Lu loci could be excluded at the 95% level.
