Abstract
Quasi-rotational bands built on the and states in , , and and the state in have been excited by (heavy-ion, ) reactions. () and () reactions have been used to show that the absence of the band in and is related to the fragmentation of the quasiparticle strength in these nuclei. An unusual relation has been found between the type of reaction used and the detection of quasirotational bands in odd- nuclei.
