Abstract
The bombarding energy dependence of deep inelastic fragment kinetic energies has been measured for + collisions at MeV. The results are compared with a simple classical model to show that the observed energy dependence is in reasonable agreement with a classical picture of strong tangential friction leading to rigid rotation of a very extended intermediate dinuclear system.
