Oxygen flux across the integument of the avian egg during incubation

Abstract
1. The oxygen flux across the integument of eggs of domestic fowl, domestic duck, mallard, moorhen, pheasant and turkey shows a ten‐fold increase during the first week of incubation. 2. Suggestions are made as to how this is brought about. An assessment is also made of the contribution of the various components to the overall “resistance“ of the integument.
