Abstract
The inelastic-neutron-scattering technique was used to measure the magnetic excitation spectrum of triads in Cs . It is shown that biquadratic two-spin and particularly three-spin interaction terms distinctly contribute to the spin coupling of the ions. The present work thus provides direct experimental evidence of the existence of three-body forces in an interacting system.
