Abstract
A comparison of blood volume studies on 3 groups of infants (cord ligations-immediate; delayed, infant down; delayed, infant up) demonstrates no significant difference in red cell volume and hemoglobin mass 3 to 4 days after birth. With mechanical stripping of the cord before ligatlon, a 4th group show an increase in red cell volume and hemoglobin mass. Keywords
