Abstract
The propagation directions of pure transverse elastic waves of infinitesimal amplutide in an infinite, nondissipative, and anisotropic elastic medium are investigated for the cubic, hexagonal, tetragonal, orthorhombic, and rhombohedral groups, and partly for the monoclinic group. The directions of the particle motion and the velocities are also given. The loci of these propagation directions in most cases are curves on the unit sphere and are shown schematically together with the directions of pure longitudinal mode revealing the relation between them. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
