Abstract
Structure-activity relationships in the quinolone group are described. The antibacterial activity of 2 new compounds, pefloxacin and its demethyl derivative, AM-715, were studied. This group of antimicrobial agents were examined for derivatives that are more active, with a broader spectrum, less biotransformed and susceptible to general infections and [human] urinary tract infections.
