Abstract
LEAD poisoning remains a major problem in some of the large cities of America. In Chicago a large number of cases occurred during 1959, and the experience in 1960 is very similar as far as actual number of cases in children is concerned. Most of these came from the slum areas of the city and were poisoned as a result of eating plaster and flakes of paint in run-down buildings. Because of the socioeconomic group involved, the majority of these children were admitted to the Cook County Children's Hospital.
