Abstract
In this paper the faunal remains from the late prehistoric site, the University Indian Ruin, are identified and analyzed. Of the 3304 bones examined, over one-third came from a cooking area. It was concluded that rabbit, deer, and prong-horn were important sources of meat; artiodactyls were also sources for bone artifacts. The presence of the Sonoran mud turtle and the cinnamon teal suggest that conditions along the Pantano Wash were more riparian than at present. Keywords
