Abstract
We report measurements of a large, nearly discontinuous change in the superconducting transition temperature of Au near 6 kbar as predicted earlier from pressure measurements of cross-sectional areas of the Fermi surface. This is interpreted as strong evidence for a pressure-induced electron transition near 6 kbar at liquid-He temperatures.
