Rickettsial-Pox

Abstract
THE most recently discovered of the human rickettsial diseases, rickettsial-pox, was first recognized in New York City in 1946.1 2 3 Since then, cases have been reported from a relatively circumscribed area, including Boston,4 , 5 Philadelphia6 and West Hartford, Connecticut.7 The present report extends the geographic locus of naturally occurring rickettsial-pox to Cleveland.Clinical, epidemiologic and laboratory data regarding rickettsial-pox have been reported in numerous communications.8 9 10 11 12 13 Although the course of the disease is benign, antibiotic therapy has been reported to hasten recovery.14 15 16 Case ReportM.
