Abstract
The effects of variations in temperature on the extractability of copper, manganese, nickel, lead and zinc in soil tests were investigated by extracting five soils with five reagents at four temperatures (5, 15.5, 25.5 and 38.5 C). The results indicated a trend for metal extracted to increase with temperature, except for manganese and lead in DTPA. Nickel showed the most linear and consistent response, whereas zinc showed the most anomalous behaviour, especially in soils with elevated organic matter contents.
