Abstract
Without recourse to the field theory method of de Gennes it is shown how by evaluating the polymer end-to-end distance and the second virial coefficient perturbatively using the method of Fixman it is possible to calculate the size exponent ν correct to O(ε2), where 4-ε is the dimensionality of the system. Keywords
