Abstract
-term cure for more than 37 years was obtained following radiation therapy for carcinoma of the rectum. Radiation therapy should be attempted for palliation or possible cure, despite adverse indications, whenever surgical excision of the carcinoma of the rectum is not possible. © Williams & Wilkins 1975.
