Abstract
THE recent introduction of the phenothiazine drugs and their widespread acceptance as ataraxic agents has resulted in an ever-increasing number of reports of agranulocytosis as a complication. The continuous addition of new ataraxics, with minor structural changes but chemically related to the phenothiazines, has further complicated the problem of agranulocytosis. The physician is often lulled into a false sense of security with the addition of each new drug, and the dreaded complication of blood dyscrasia is all too often forgotten or minimized.Of the following 3 cases of agranulocytosis due to one of the more recently introduced tranquilizing drugs, mepazine . . .
