Abstract
Bypass arterial grafts have been performed to the anterior tibial, posterior tibial (below the peroneal), and peroneal arteries in 8 patients with occlusive arterial disease. Six of the 8 patients exhibit excellent clinical improvement and femoral arteriogram revealed patent grafts at the time of discharge. All patients were followed until function disappeared. The successful grafts functioned for an average time of 9 months, the longest time being 14 months. The study indicates that grafts can safely be placed in the anterior and posterior tibial arteries. It is doubtful that the peroneal artery can be used with our present methods. This publication has 14 references indexed in Scilit:
