Abstract
We introduce a deterministic growth algorithm with quenched-disorder that reproduces within numerical accuracy the dual dielectric breakdown model. We discuss connections between annealed- and quenched-disorder fracture models, and the effects of imposing a connectedness requirement. The distributions of local breaking thresholds in the quenched models that correspond to the annealed models seem to be simple power laws. Keywords
