Abstract
Noise with a 1/f (ω−1) power spectrum or a spectrum approaching ω−1 in the high‐frequency limit is shown to result from thermodynamics and other stationary fluctuations in the neighborhood of certain types of singularities in the fluctuation weighting function. The limiting behavior of such ω−1 noise is shown to be essentially independent of the nature of the fluctuation transport mechanism. The transport dependence of noise which approaches ω−1 is described. Several plausible physical illustrations are presented. This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
