Abstract
Students are sometimes confused by the proliferation of leadership theories and concepts and have trouble seeing how these relate to one another and apply to leadership style in real situations. This article discusses an approach to presenting leadership that has been used by the author with encouraging results. It is built around a simple graphic representation, with initiation of structure and substitutes for leadership as the integrating concepts. Implications for participative leadership and employee development are discussed. Keywords
