Abstract
The brains of 5 adult Finnish horses were used and the tissue sections were stained by Gomori''s aldehyde-fuchsin method after oxidation and Gomori''s chrome-alum-hematoxylin-phloxine method for the study of the distribution of neurosecretory material. No neurosecretory material was found intravascularly or in the 3d ventricle. The material, however, tended to accumulate around the blood vessels through only in the median eminence and in the pars nervosa. Although some neurosecretory bodies were observed in close contact with the ependymal cells of the infundibular recess and in the lateral wall of the 3d ventricle near the paraventricular nuclei, no evidence of secretion into the ventricle was observed. Keywords
