Abstract
Strictly serotype-specific antigens [Ag] could be obtained by phenol-water extraction from mucoid cell cultures of 5 serotypes of H. parahaemolyticus (pleuropneumoniae). These serotype-specific Ag did not cross-react with each other in immunodiffusion tests. The type-specific precipitating phenol-water fractions were composed of 2-4 antigenic components, presumably of polysaccharide or lipopolysaccharide nature.
