Abstract
There is good evidence that each of these syndromes may be due to production of the hormonal -like material by the tumor. Removal of the tumor or chemotherapy has resulted in remissions of the endocrine syndromes and recurrence has often accompanied regrowth of the tumor. The occurrence of these syndromes poses several fundamental questions since all cells possess the same genetic information, how is synthesis of trophic hormones and active peptides restricted to one tissue, and how does neoplasia enable cells derived from diverse tissues to produce these peptides and proteins of such highly specific nature?.Keywords
