Abstract
Following prolonged incubation, there is loss of thromboplastin in the thromboplastin generation test. This effect is more pronounced when blood reagents are used in undiluted form, suggesting active destruction of thromboplastin rather than intrinsic instability of the compound. An assay for thromboplastin inactivator was devised, based on modifications of the thromboplastin generation test. Thromboplastin inactivator was found in fraction V of Cohn, but not in purified albumin. It appears to be different from the previously described antithromboplastins. Keywords
