Abstract
Hypervitaminosis A was induced in rats by feeding them orally doses of 25,000-50,000 i.u. of either crystalline vit. A acetate or halibut liver oil. Characteristic lesions were skeletal fractures and internal or external hemorrhages. Uterine hemorrhage in pregnant rats given excess of cod-liver oil, halibut liver oil or vit. A acetate appears to be a special manifestation of the general liability to hemorrhage in hypervitaminosis A.Keywords
