Abstract
The effect of pre‐(initiation) and post‐(promotion) administration of methylglyoxal (MG) on the induction of γ‐glutamyltranspeptidase (GGT)‐positive foci in the liver of F344 male rats was investigated. GGT‐positive foci were produced in doserelated amounts by 0.05 and 0.2% MG in drinking water, either when administered to uninitiated rats or when given in the promotion phase. Keywords
