Abstract
Some theoretical and experimental results for the reflection and transmission of a uniform plane electromagnetic wave, normally incident on an ideal strip grating, are presented. The theory is based on the variational method, and the measurements were made at normal incidence in a parallel plate region operating in the 8- to 10-cms wavelength range. A few results for oblique incidence are also included; the experiments in this case were carried out at 1.24-cm wavelength in a parallel plate spectrometer. Resasonable agreement between theory and experiment was obtained throughout. Keywords
