Education that is Multicultural and the Relationship between Preservice Campus Learning and Field Experiences

Abstract
This study examines the implementation of education that is multicultural (EMC) in a teacher education program. It also examines the relationship between EMC learned on the campus and EMC implemented in the school. Interviews and field observations were used to collect data. The results show that students were receiving some information on EMC in their classes on campus; however. the information they were receiving was not comprehensive and was often repetitious. Students saw little EMC being implemented by teachers. and students did not try to implement the EMC concepts they learned on the campus when working in the school.
