Abstract
The release of house flies into fly-screened feedlot pens at the rates of 5,000, 10,000, and 40,000/pen/day resulted in population levels of 34, 32, and 49 flies/animal side, respectively. These population levels had little measurable effect on weight gain performance or feed efficiency of cattle. House flies did not cause eye irritation. Cattle stress could not be indicated by a blood chemistry analysis. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
