Reaction cross section studies withSi28ions

Abstract
The fusion-evaporation products in the Si28-induced reactions on Al27 at 65-81 MeV have been studied by detecting γ rays from the residual nuclei. Cross sections for two- and three-particle removal from the initial compound nucleus Co55 are found to dominate. High spin states in the product nuclei have been investigated. Experimental reaction cross sections are compared with compound nucleus evaporation calculations.
