Abstract
The impact-parameter-dependent K-shell-vacancy-production probability for +Ne and +Ar collisions is studied with use of the modified atomic-orbital (AO+) expansion model. It is shown that the AO+ model predicts results in good agreement with experimental data. The discrepancies at low energies are discussed and further experimentation is suggested.
