Abstract
Experimental differential cross sections for 104 MeV alpha -particle scattering have been analysed using a method recently proposed for model-independent analyses. Reliable values of isoscalar (O+-31-) octupole transition rates in 50Ti, 52Cr and 208Pb are presented and compared with electromagnetic rates.Keywords
