Abstract
New and improved data on the photonic decays of the old (noncharm) mesons has appeared within the past six years. It is now possible to put many of the ideas of the past twenty years to an exhaustive test. A review of these developments is given and the implications for our understanding of electromagnetic interactions of mesons are noted. Keywords
