Abstract
After presenting a moment analysis method as a procedure whereby scattering of different projectiles from deformed nuclei can be rationally compared in a very simple way, the authors explore the empirical consequences of possible differences in proton and neutron deformations. They make suggestions for experimental programmes and discuss the possible outcomes of particular experiments in terms of alternative implications for scattering theory on the one hand, or our understanding of nuclear deformations (particularly neutron deformations) on the other. This paper is a continuation of our earlier work in which the effects of density dependence of the effective nucleon-nucleon interaction upon inelastic scattering (see ibid. vol.3, L.19 (1977)).Keywords
