OPHTHALMOLOGY has witnessed a wide-spread clinical trial of cortisone and adrenocorticotrophic hormone (ACTH) during the past two years, and the results have opened an entirely new approach to the treatment of certain ophthalmologic conditions. At present, although the number of publications on the subject is not extensive, it seems appropriate to review the available literature and to call attention to the current concepts of both etiology and therapy that have emerged from the use of these agents, particularly in the inflammatory ocular lesions. It was apparent initially that considerable enthusiasm was to be associated with the early experiences; although more . . .Keywords
