Abstract
The complex permittivity of water has been redetermined at 9 GHz using a new instrumentation system which results in calculated errors in epsilon ' of +or-0.06% and in epsilon " of +or-0.15%. This is a significant improvement over those previously reported in the literature, which are typically not better than +or-1% in epsilon ' and epsilon ". It is found that epsilon '=62.256(37), epsilon "=31.570(47) at f=9.346 GHz, T=293K; and epsilon '=64.156(38), epsilon "=28.623(43) at f=9.370 GHz, T=298K.Keywords
