Abstract
The clinical and sociodemographic profile of suicidal and nonsuicidal schizophrenia patients was investigated in 801 patients with this diagnosis seen at a comprehensive psychiatric facility between 1983 and 1987. Suicidal patients tended to exhibit depression, aggressiveness, substance abuse and a severe and progressive impairment in adaptive functioning. Keywords
