Abstract
The toxicity of the six isomeric dichlorophenyl and dimethyl-phenyl N-methylcarbamates was evaluated to three species of insects and was compared with the anticholinesterase activity of the compounds. Numerous mixed chloro-methylphenyl Nmethylcarbamates were studied in a similar manner and the relationships of structure to biological activity are discussed. The substitution of the isosteric chlorine atom for the methyl group generally resulted in decreased biological activity. Keywords
