Abstract
Magneto-optical properties of Ba-ferrite particulate media were investigated. Faraday rotation and reflectivity were measured for different thicknesses of the magnetic layer, and compared with the predictions of a simple analytical model. The magneto-optical output of the media measured using a laser showed a maximum at a particular thickness. The dependence of the magneto-optical output on thickness is explained on the basis of equations approximating the Faraday rotation and the reflectivity. This publication has 11 references indexed in Scilit:
