Abstract
The case of a 26-year-old female, who had known hypertension for 13 years, is presented. Although the patient required virtually continuous treatment, the disease did not run an accelerated course. Following removal of the affected kidney, the patient''s blood pressure fell to normal levels, and she has remained normotensive for 18 months. Microscopically, the lumen of the left renal artery was found to be virtually occluded by plaque; and there was a large post-stenotic aneurysmal dilatation. Keywords
