THE EFFECT OF HEMORRHAGE, INTESTINAL TRAUMA AND HISTAMINE ON THE PARTITION OF THE BLOOD STREAM

Abstract
The flow of blood through the posterior part of the body, the kidneys, the portal system and the anterior extremities and head has been determined before and after hemorrhage, intestinal trauma, and histamine administration. Hemorrhage and intestinal trauma were accompanied by a great diminution in the flow of blood through the posterior part of the body and a smaller decrease elsewhere. The injection of histamine was usually associated with a general reduction in the flow of blood throughout the body.
